The Waihī Community Forum received a resource consent on Tuesday for the Pump Track and is now busily working with Hauraki District Council and Velo Solutions to start the build in February 2025 at Morgan Park. Ideally, it would have been great to have this first part of the Outdoor Recreation Hub ready for the community at the start of summer, but it seems good things really do take time, and we're all very excited now to have everything needed to get the track underway. It will be located near the old netball courts car park, Kenny Street, so let's all cheer the builders on when you see them early next year.
The Forum members - Bindy, Bhavesh, Anne Marie, Mike, Ernani, Paul, Rangi, Kyle and Donna, and the Forum Administrator, Paula, would like to thank the following organisations for their financial grants and organisational support:
Valder Ohinemuri Charitable Trust, The Lions Club of Waihī, Lion Foundation, Waihi Herb Society, Oceana Gold Waihī, Lottery Community Facilities, and the Hauraki District Council.
While we finalise details with Velo Solutions, we are also working on Stage 2 - the replacement Skate Park and BBQ area - watch this space!
