In collaboration with the Cherry Blossom Society, the Waihī Community Forum funded the planting of Awanui Cherry Trees along Barry and Mataura Roads in Waihī East. These lower-growing and sterile trees are popular with bees and birds, bringing in Tuis and Wax-eyes. When flowering, they look good too.
