Pit rim benches installed, funding update

If you haven't already seen them, all 5 benches have now been installed around the Pit Rim! This was a joint project with OceanaGold Waihi, and the Forum hopes you enjoy them.

And here's some more great funding news - Hauraki District Council recently received $30,000 towards the Outdoor Recreation Hub; thanks very much to the Lion Foundation! There is now enough funding for the Pump Track, and the plan is to start the build as soon as the weather gets better. There is also some funding to put towards Stage 2 of the project - the Skate Park, exercise and BBQ area. We're working on securing more external funding so we can get something really good for our community. It's a slow process involving a lot of work behind the scenes, but we're getting there!

We also have funding for some Basketball court line markings. The Forum installed the courts in 2019, and they've been very popular ever since. We think some decent line markings will help them look even better, and in February, we asked you for your thoughts. A huge thank you to Hayley and Jessica for sending in some great designs, which we will use. We're now working with Sport'n'Action Waihi and Hauraki District Council to use this funding to help secure external funding for the Tennis and Netball Court line markings too - teamwork!
